Welcome

The Tasmanian Government welcomes all those who share our love for the sub-Antarctic and who are interested in attending the 4th sub-Antarctic Forum in Hobart, Tasmania in 2020.

Along with our co-hosts, the New Zealand Department of Conservation, we are proud to deliver a forum where experts from around the world can come together to protect the future of the sub-Antarctic.

We have put together a wonderful program of activities that will encourage rigorous discussion on subjects that matter to you, the delegates.

Facilitated think tank on sub-Antarctic futures

Close

Our speakers come from all over the sub-Antarctic and will place their work in the context of the sub-Antarctic as a distinct region.

In addition there will be 26 speed talks and posters that will be chosen from those who submit abstracts.  We encourage recent students, early career researchers and others with specific interests in the region to submit abstracts for consideration.  These may be on any topic that is relevant.

Abstracts are now open.

Much of the second day will be a facilitated think tank on sub-Antarctic futures, which will allow deeper consideration of issues from a number of perspectives.  This will encourage sharing of insights, new collaborations and new networks among delegates.

We hope you enjoy the Forum and make the most of your time in Hobart by considering also participating at the 2020 SCAR Open Science Conference and Delegate Meeting held from the 31st July to 11th August 2020.
